For Pam's photo I saw lots of different areas I wanted to play with, so I ended up cutting little windows  of various sizes in cardboard and moving them around the photo until I hit just the right area for me to explore. The photo below is really dark, but if you look closely, you can see part of the tire and the back of the truck.

I really like the lines here and started pulling out some fabrics, not necessarily to imitate what I saw, but instead provide a nice contrast in pattern.

What I have going on above is just a start with some black and cream color fabric with a little blue thrown in.  Not necessarily my final piece, but worth studying on the design wall.
